Exciting New Chapter
Steve Cox steps down from Board of Trustees after nearly ten years of leading the charity. Lani Charlwood is now the new Christians in Media Chair of Trustees.
Christians in Media celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2027. Across the decades we’ve constantly adapted to an ever-changing media landscape. We’ve always played a key role in the field of faith and media, with many church and media leaders at our heart. And behind our mission to serve and bring together Christians in media, has been our team.
For more than nine years, Steve Cox, our outgoing Chair of Trustees has led us through many significant changes: we’ve changed our brand name to reflect who we are and what we do, equipped young people who have a passion for faith and media through our Mentoring Programme, gathered our community through online lunchtime prayer meetings, annual services, regional hub activities, and many events, launched our podcast, prayed for media with our National Day of Prayer for the Media (going global this year!), and after a pandemic break, reignited our conferences to bring our network of storytellers together again in person: we’ll see you at Engage 2024 in October!
We could include more, but we are grateful for the relationships Steve has created, his dedication and service for our community and the way he has supported our team. Like with any change, we will miss him.
Yet, we know there are seasons (Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that). And just as God has enabled the charity to flourish over the decades, we know that as we continue to commit our way to Him, He will guide us (Psalm 37:5).
The Board is delighted that current trustee Lani Charlwood is now our Chair of Trustees after Steve Cox stepped down at our 1 July Board meeting:
Having recently welcomed more new trustees to our team, we look forward to how Christians in Media will continue to develop in this next season.
